Dr. Steve Jacobs - SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO CLASS

Instructions for Setting up the PLUTO SDR on your computer/laptop. Complete in order!!

Section 1: 
  • Download Pluto USB Driver below
  • Extract and Run the Installer and close when finished
  • Connect the Pluto SDR to your computer using the provided USB cable. 
  • Go to the device manager: Network adapter section 
  • Open USB Pluto device and set IP: 192.168.2.1  
  • Close the device manager 
Section 2:  
  • Download Putty  from this link
  • Run putty and Connect to 192.168.2.1 
  • Username: root 
  • Password: analog 
  • Run the following command 
  • fw_setenv compatible ad9364 
  • Type reboot (you can leave the Pluto connected for the next step)
Section 3: 
  • Download and install Radioconda from the links below. Choose your operating system.
  • Linuxx86_64Command-lineradioconda-Linux-x86_64.sh
  • macOSx86_64Graphicalradioconda-MacOSX-x86_64.pkg
    Windowsx86_64Graphicalradioconda-Windows-x86_64.exe 
Section 4: 
  • Run GNU radio Companion from your program menu.
  • Download and open below "pluto_noaa_weather_rx.zip" file in GNU Radio Companion and hit the play button.
